Shares are from the last ranked game of about 276,000 players, via deadlock-api.com, checked October 7, 2026. Players still calibrating aren’t counted. “Top” means that rank or higher.
The average ranked player is Sentinel III: half of all ranked players are there or below. Reaching Oracle puts you in the top 14%, and Oracle VI is also the highest rank you can calibrate into.
Subranks and points
Every rank from Initiate to Eternus has subranks I, II, III, IV, V and VI.
| Step | Points needed | About how many net wins* |
|---|---|---|
| One subrank (e.g. Mystic II → III) | 1,000 | 4 |
| Out of subrank VI into the next rank (e.g. Mystic VI → Ritualist I) | 2,000 | 7 |
| A whole rank (I to the next rank’s I) | 7,000 | 23 |
* At about 300 points a game, before win-streak bonuses. Wins minus losses.
Win streaks speed this up: from your third win in a row you get bonus points, up to +90 per win at five in a row.
Losing a rank
- At the bottom of a subrank, you can lose 2 games before dropping.
- At the bottom of a full rank, you get 5 games of protection.
So once you reach a new rank, a short losing streak won’t knock you straight back down.
The top of the ladder
- Eternus is the highest rank.
- The top 1,000 players in each region (North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Oceania) appear on the leaderboard, along with their three highest-rated heroes.
- Eternus players can only duo with other Eternus players within three subranks.
