How to play

Vindicta is a long-range sniper. She Stakes targets so they can’t escape, weakens them with Crow Familiar, takes to the skies with Flight, and finishes them with Assassinate, a charged sniper shot that executes low-health enemies.

Laning phase (0–10 min)

  • Poke from range. Your gun works well at long distance, so stay back and land headshots.
  • Crow Familiar is your trading tool. It deals damage over time and lowers the target’s resists, so follow it up with your gun.
  • Keep your distance. You’re fragile; don’t let melee heroes reach you.

Mid game (10–25 min)

  • Buy Long Range. It’s your biggest damage spike.
  • Use Flight to find angles. From the air you can shoot over cover and see fights coming.
  • Snipe low-health enemies with Assassinate. With 2 charges, you can finish off two escaping targets.

Late game and team fights (25+ min)

  • Stay at the back. Your job is damage from safety; let your frontline take the hits.
  • Stake divers. If an assassin jumps on your team, Stake them in place so your team can kill them.
  • Save Assassinate for executes. It deals bonus damage below 50% health; use it to finish targets your team has worn down.

Combos

  1. Pick: Crow Familiar → Stake to stop them escaping → shoot → Assassinate to finish.
  2. Air support: Flight → shoot over cover → Assassinate the lowest-health enemy.
  3. Anti-dive: Stake the diver → back away → shoot them while they’re stuck.

Matchups

  • Good against: slow, immobile heroes and casters who need to get close.
  • Hard against: fast divers and assassins who can reach her, and heroes who can block or dodge long-range shots.
  • Healers counter her poke. Crow Familiar T1 cuts healing by 35%, so get it early against healers.

Pro tips

  • Assassinate is hitscan: no bullet travel time, so you don’t need to lead.
  • Kills with Assassinate stack weapon damage permanently: +6% each (+10% with T3).
  • Flight gives your items 50% more range, which helps any range-limited actives.

Lore

Vindicta was executed during the Salem witch trials by John Hathorne, then brought back when the Maelstrom flooded the world with the supernatural. Now she wages war on the Friends of Humanity, a modern inquisition founded by Hathorne's descendants, to protect other supernatural beings from persecution.

Frequently asked questions

Is Vindicta good for beginners?

Vindicta is medium difficulty. She's safe if you stay at range, but her damage depends on landing shots, especially Assassinate, so good aim matters a lot.

How does Assassinate work?

It's a scoped, instant-hit sniper shot with 2 charges. It deals 90 damage, up to 180 if you charge it for a full second, and extra damage to targets below half health. Each kill with it gives you a permanent stack of weapon damage.

How do you counter Vindicta?

Dive her. She has low health and few escapes, so heroes with gap closers can kill her quickly. Use cover to break her line of sight, and save health so Assassinate can't finish you.
