Item build

A starting build that works in most games. Swap pieces based on the enemy team; the notes explain what each stage is for.

Checked against 29,098 Mina matches from October 6–7, 2026 (all ranks). It keeps the items most Mina players buy and fills the other slots with the items that won most often. See the item tier list for how we measure that.

StageItems
Laning (800-soul items)Nearly every Mina opens with Extra Spirit, Mystic Burst and Extra Stamina.
Mid game core (1,600–3,200)The standard spirit core: Improved Spirit, Quicksilver Reload, Tankbuster and Stamina Mastery. Superior Cooldown has the best mid-game results, and Dispel Magic is the active most players take.
Late game (6,400)Boundless Spirit is on most Minas but scores poorly in our data. Ethereal Shift has the best results of any late item on her, and Spiritual Overflow also does well.
SituationalSpirit Lifesteal for sustain, Diviner's Kevlar and Cheat Death if you're focused first in fights, Grit as a cheap shield.

How to play

Mina is a vampire harasser with the lowest health in the game, but plenty of ways to avoid getting hit. Love Bites adds spirit damage to her bullets and procs a big bite, Rake slashes for damage that grows with the target’s missing health, Sanguine Retreat turns her into bats, and Nox Nostra releases a bat swarm that grows every time she bites a hero.

Laning phase (0–10 min)

  • Proc Love Bites on the enemy hero as often as possible. Each proc adds 2 bats to your ultimate permanently.
  • Rake to finish low targets and troopers. It executes non-heroes below 60 health and heals you.
  • Stay safe. At 660 health you can’t afford bad trades.

Mid game (10–25 min)

  • Harass constantly. Keep stacking your swarm.
  • Sanguine Retreat to escape or reposition; T3 gives an extra recast.

Late game and team fights (25+ min)

  • Nox Nostra with a full swarm deals huge damage and silences.
  • Rake low-health enemies. Its missing-health damage makes it a great finisher.

Combos

  1. Harass: shoot → Love Bites proc → Rake.
  2. Escape: Sanguine Retreat → recast → float with zoom to stay airborne.
  3. Team fight: Nox Nostra on the group (silence) → Rake the lowest target.

Matchups

  • Good against: heroes who can’t punish her poke, and teams with low mobility.
  • Hard against: burst assassins, since she has very little health.

Pro tips

  • Love Bites has a 10-second cooldown per target, so spread your attacks across several heroes to proc it more often.
  • Mina has -8% debuff resist innately, so crowd control lasts slightly longer on her.

Lore

Mina Ha was due to marry into high society until her fiancé was assassinated. Her wealthy parents paid a vampire to make her immortal as consolation, and now she navigates vampire politics with her sights set on becoming the Viscount of New York.

Frequently asked questions

How does Mina's Nox Nostra get stronger?

Every time Love Bites procs on an enemy hero, she permanently adds 2 bats to Nox Nostra's swarm, up to 75 bats. The more she harasses heroes, the bigger her ultimate gets.

Can Mina float?

Yes. Rake's passive lets her hold zoom to float briefly in the air, for up to 4 seconds.

How do you counter Mina?

Burst her down. She has the lowest health in the game and only 2 stamina. Save crowd control for when Sanguine Retreat is on cooldown.
