This tier list ranks every Deadlock shop item against the other items of the same price, using public match data from deadlock-api.com since the October 5, 2026 balance patch. It’s the item version of our hero tier list.
How we tier: S = +3 points or more · A = +1.5 to +3 · B = 0 to +1.5 · C = 0 to −1.5 · D = below −1.5. A “point” is one percentage point of win rate above or below the average item of the same tier, bought at the same minute of the match. Updated after each major patch.
Why not just use win rates?
Raw item win rates mostly tell you who’s rich. The team that’s winning has more souls, so it buys more tier 4 items, so every tier 4 item looks good. In this data, every single tier 4 item has a raw win rate above 50%, even the worst one.
So we compare like with like:
- Each purchase is compared only with other items of the same tier.
- And only with items bought in the same minute of the match. A tier 3 item bought at 12 minutes is compared with other tier 3 items bought at 12 minutes, not with ones bought at 30.
What’s left is closer to the question you actually care about: with the same souls at the same time, which item helps more?
How to read it (and its limits)
- Defensive items look worse than they are. Players buy Metal Skin, Bullet Resilience and Disarming Hex when they’re already losing fights to guns. Their low scores mostly reflect why they were bought. Buy them when the enemy calls for them; see counter-building.
- Some items ride on their heroes. An item that’s mostly bought by one strong hero borrows that hero’s win rate. Check your own hero guide for what your hero should build.
- Small gaps are noise. For less popular items, differences under about 1 point aren’t meaningful. Focus on the tiers, not the exact order.
- All ranks, normal mode. Street Brawl and Broker-corrupted items aren’t counted. Items with fewer than 5,000 purchases are left out.
- Items in S tier aren’t “must buy”. A good build still comes first. Use this list to choose between options that fit your hero.
Tier 4 items (6,400 souls)
The late-game picks. Lucky Shot, Silencer and Frenzy lead, so gun carries are in a strong spot this patch. On the defensive side, Diviner’s Kevlar and Colossus both score well, and Ethereal Shift is the top spirit item. Boundless Spirit is the most-bought tier 4 spirit item but scores below average, which suggests spirit builds do better finishing a cooldown or utility item first.
Each dot is how many percentage points an item's win rate sits above or below other 6,400-soul items bought at the same point in the match. The vertical lines are our tier cut-offs.

Tier 3 items (3,200 souls)
Heroic Aura has the highest score of any tier 3 item. Like the other team-wide auras, it helps everyone nearby, so its value adds up across a fight. Ballistic Enchantment and Berserker are the strongest gun picks, and Superior Duration, Greater Expansion and Superior Cooldown are the safest spirit upgrades. Remember the defensive-item caveat when you look at the bottom of this list.
Each dot is how many percentage points an item's win rate sits above or below other 3,200-soul items bought at the same point in the match. The vertical lines are our tier cut-offs.

Tier 2 items (1,600 souls)
Duration Extender is the best-scoring tier 2 item and one of the most bought, a sign that longer abilities are strong across the roster right now. Active Reload and Fleetfoot lead the gun options, and Debuff Reducer is the top Vitality pick, which makes sense with so much crowd control in the game.
Each dot is how many percentage points an item's win rate sits above or below other 1,600-soul items bought at the same point in the match. The vertical lines are our tier cut-offs.

Tier 1 items (800 souls)
Tier 1 scores are close together, as you’d expect from cheap stat items. Extra Health, Sprint Boots and Mystic Expansion come out on top. The two actives, Golden Goose Egg and Rusted Barrel, score lowest, so in lane, raw stats tend to beat early buttons.
Each dot is how many percentage points an item's win rate sits above or below other 800-soul items bought at the same point in the match. The vertical lines are our tier cut-offs.

How to use this list
- Build for your hero first. The build theory guide and your hero’s page come before any tier list.
- Break ties with it. When two items fill the same job, pick the higher-tier one.
- Counter-build anyway. If the enemy has three gun carries, Metal Skin is right for you, whatever its score.
- Check back after patches. Item balance changes often, and so does this list.
Data: purchases in normal-mode matches from 2026-10-06 (the first full day after the October 5 patch) to 2026-10-07 14:00 UTC, all ranks.

Frequently asked questions
What are the best items in Deadlock right now?
By our adjusted win rate, the strongest items after the October 5, 2026 patch are Lucky Shot, Silencer and Frenzy at tier 4, Heroic Aura, Ballistic Enchantment and Superior Duration at tier 3, and Duration Extender, Active Reload and Debuff Reducer at tier 2.
How is this item tier list made?
Every purchase is compared with other items of the same price bought in the same minute of the match. An item's score is how many percentage points its win rate sits above or below that average. S is +3 or more, A is +1.5 to +3, B is 0 to +1.5, C is 0 to -1.5, and D is below -1.5.
Why is Metal Skin so low on the tier list?
Because players buy it when they're already losing fights to guns. Reactive defensive items always score low in win-rate data. That doesn't make them bad; it means the data can't see the games they saved. Buy them when the enemy team calls for them.
Why not just use item win rates?
Raw item win rates mostly measure wealth. Every tier 4 item has a raw win rate above 50% because the team that's ahead buys more of them. Comparing items only against others of the same tier, bought at the same time, removes most of that effect.
Numbers on this page are checked against the game and the community-run Deadlock Wiki. Spotted something a patch changed? Tell us.
