Item build

A starting build that works in most games. Swap pieces based on the enemy team; the notes explain what each stage is for.

Checked against 19,038 Victor matches from October 6–7, 2026 (all ranks). It keeps the items most Victor players buy and fills the other slots with the items that won most often. See the item tier list for how we measure that.

StageItems
Laning (800-soul items)Extra Regen and Extra Spirit are on almost every Victor. Mystic Expansion has the best results of his cheap items.
Mid game core (1,600–3,200)Victor is built as a spirit bruiser: Healing Booster, Spirit Lifesteal and Enduring Speed are on nearly every Victor, with Mystic Vulnerability and Improved Spirit for damage. Warp Stone has the best mid-game results.
Late game (6,400)Infuser and Escalating Exposure are the usual finishers, but both score poorly in our data. Refresher and Ethereal Shift have the best results of any late item on him.
SituationalSpirit Burn, Witchmail and Boundless Spirit all score well. Compress Cooldown is a cheap way to get abilities back sooner.

How to play

Victor is a self-damaging brawler. He hurts himself on purpose: Jumpstart shocks him for a burst of regen and speed, Aura of Suffering damages enemies around him (and him too), and the damage he takes charges Pain Battery, which he fires off as shocking bolts. His ultimate, Shocking Reanimation, brings him back from the dead.

Laning phase (0–10 min)

  • Pain Battery is free damage. Taking damage charges it; fire it at the enemy hero.
  • Jumpstart for sustain. The self-damage is quickly outweighed by the regen burst.
  • Let your gun spin up. It takes 1.67 seconds to reach full fire rate, so commit to shooting.

Mid game (10–25 min)

  • Aura of Suffering in close fights. Its damage grows the longer you channel.
  • Fight boldly with the ultimate up. Your revive is a second life.

Late game and team fights (25+ min)

  • Dive in with Aura. Your revive means enemies have to kill you twice.
  • Reanimation T3 adds big damage and a long stun, and cuts the cooldown sharply.

Combos

  1. Self-charge: Jumpstart (self-damage charges Pain Battery) → Pain Battery bolts → Aura of Suffering.
  2. Brawl: Aura of Suffering → shoot (spun up) → Pain Battery when charged.
  3. Revive bomb: fight to the death → Shocking Reanimation stuns everyone near you → finish them.

Matchups

  • Good against: close-range heroes who stay inside his aura.
  • Hard against: anti-heal, kiting, and teams that save burst for after his revive.

Pro tips

  • Self-damage counts towards Pain Battery, so Jumpstart and Aura charge it.
  • Shocking Reanimation T1 gives bonus fire rate and spirit damage while the ultimate is on cooldown, softening the loss of your revive.

Lore

Victor woke up on a mortuary table with no memory of who built him or whose body parts he's made of. Now he searches the city for his creator and the truth about where he came from.

Frequently asked questions

How does Victor's ultimate work?

Shocking Reanimation is passive. When Victor would die, he releases a slowing wave instead, then after 3 seconds comes back at 50% health (100% with T2), dealing heavy spirit damage and stunning nearby enemies. It has a long cooldown, shortened by T3.

How does Pain Battery charge?

It charges from damage Victor takes, one charge per 40% of his max health. Self-damage from Jumpstart and Aura of Suffering counts too, so he can charge it himself.

How do you counter Victor?

Bait out his revive, then kill him again while it's on cooldown. Spread out around him when he's about to reanimate, buy anti-heal, and stay out of his aura.
