Deadlock Rotations Guide: Ziplines, Zipline Boost, Teleporters and Shortcuts

How to move around Deadlock's map fast. Covers zipline speeds and the zipline boost, express lines, teleporters, jump pads and tunnels, plus when and how to rotate between lanes.

In Deadlock, the team that arrives first usually wins. Fast rotations let you join fights, defend objectives and take the Urn, Rift or Mid Boss before the enemy can react. Here’s every way to move fast, and how to use them.

Ziplines

Each lane has a zipline running from your base towards the enemy’s. How far it goes depends on how far your troopers have pushed.

Details
Speed18 m/s (middle lane), 21 m/s (side lanes), whatever your hero
Get offCrouch (Left Ctrl). You keep your momentum for 2 seconds
BonusRiding refreshes your air dash and double jump
Combat lockoutAfter taking damage from enemy heroes or objectives, you can’t attach for 3 seconds

Watch out: enemy heroes can knock you off a zipline with damage, so don’t ride straight into a fight.

Zipline boost

  • Press F while riding to boost: +80% zipline speed for 32 seconds.
  • Available from 6:00, then on a 6-minute cooldown.
  • Express lines: destroying an enemy Base Guardian pair permanently gives your team that +80% boost in that lane. This makes pushing the final objectives much faster.

Save your boost for when it matters: rushing to defend, joining a fight, or getting to the Rift or Urn first.

Teleporters

Details
How manyTwo linked pairs
WhereNext to the two underground secret shops
Channel4 seconds; stay safe while it charges
After+3 m/s move speed for 5 seconds
RestrictionsSoul Urn carriers can’t use them

Other shortcuts

  • Jump pads: vents that launch you through the air. Learn the ones near your lane.
  • Ropes: climb to rooftops and upper floors.
  • Underground tunnels: move unseen between areas.
  • Rooftops: no fall damage means you can always drop off a roof to escape.

When to rotate

  1. Your lane is pushed. You’ve cleared the wave and the next one is 20+ seconds away. Help another lane, or farm on the way.
  2. A teammate needs help. A 2v1 in another lane is your chance for a kill, or their chance to survive.
  3. An objective is coming up. The Urn (10:00, then every 5:00), the Rift (~11:00, then every ~7:00), the Mid Boss after it respawns, and power-ups (every 5:00).
  4. Enemies are missing from the minimap. If you can’t see them, they may be heading to a teammate. Move towards your team.

How to rotate well

  • Push your wave first. Leaving a wave behind means your Guardian takes damage and your lane loses souls.
  • Farm on the way. Pick a route through camps and crates.
  • Use ziplines to get back to lane after shopping or respawning.
  • Rotate as a group in the mid game. Two players arriving together win fights that one alone would lose.
  • Ping your intent. A quick ping lets teammates know you’re coming, so they can wait for you.

That’s the end of the Map section. Next up: heroes.

Frequently asked questions

How do you use the zipline boost in Deadlock?

Press F while riding a zipline (from 6:00 onward). It gives +80% zipline speed for 32 seconds, then goes on a 6-minute cooldown. Destroying an enemy Base Guardian pair permanently turns that lane's zipline into an express line with the boost always on.

Where are the teleporters in Deadlock?

There are two linked pairs, next to the two underground secret shops between Broadway and the side lanes. They take 4 seconds to channel and give +3 m/s speed for 5 seconds after you arrive.

How do I get off a zipline in Deadlock?

Press crouch (Left Ctrl). You keep your momentum for 2 seconds, and riding a zipline refreshes your air dash and double jump, so you can dismount straight into a jump or dash.
