Deadlock Districts, Jungle Camps and Spawn Timers (City Never Sleeps)

A map-focused guide to Deadlock's four districts. Covers what's in each area, every camp and spawn timer, secret shops, steam vents, tunnels, power-ups and the Bell Tower and Sunken Plaza.

The lanes get the attention, but most of Deadlock’s map is between them: four districts packed with camps, soul machines, shops and hiding spots. This guide covers what’s where. For how to farm it, see jungle farming.

Where everything is

Turn layers on and off to find camps, Sinner’s Sacrifice machines, golden statues and steam vents.

The camps (haunts)

City Never Sleeps added nine haunt families: Barrel Mimics, Past Dues, Festival Spirits, Slum Shrooms, Crabbage Pots, Stage Hands, Specimens, Gutter Ghouls and Underhands. Each has its own attacks, but they fall into three tiers:

TierHealthSoulsResists (bullet / spirit)
Small12941 (+0.44/min)50% / 45%
Medium32268 (+0.73/min)50% / 45%
Large1,133181 (+1.95/min)60% / 55%

Some Sinner’s Sacrifice sites are mixed camps, with machines next to medium camps. These respawn only once everything at the site is cleared.

Power-ups

Glowing stones on the bridges near the Soul Urn spawn and drop-off points, from 5:00 and every 5 minutes after. Grab them with a heavy melee. Each lasts 160 seconds (lost if you die) and gets stronger as the game goes on:

Power-upEffect (early → late game)
Casting+15 → +65 spirit power, 12–20% cooldown reduction
Gun+12% → +35% fire rate, +35% → +70% ammo; instant reload on pickup
Movement+2 → +4 stamina, +1.5 → +4 m/s sprint speed, faster ziplines
Survival+200 → +750 bonus health, plus health regen

Power-ups only buff the player who claims them, so give them to the hero who benefits most: Gun to a gun carry, Casting to a spirit hero.

Secret shops

Two underground shops between Broadway and the side lanes, reached by stairs or manholes. Both teams can use them, and a teleporter sits next to each. They’re handy for shopping mid-rotation without going home.

Steam vents

Found near secret shops, camps and the Mid Boss. While inside a steam vent you:

  • are hidden from enemy heroes,
  • can’t be targeted by abilities or items that need a hero target, and
  • get a regeneration boost.

You’re revealed if you take damage, deal damage, or an enemy hero steps into the vent. Use them to reset health before a fight, or to wait in ambush.

Underground tunnels

The tunnels link areas of the map out of sight. They have their own crates and statues (on 5-minute timers) and cockroaches worth 1 soul each. They’re a safe way to rotate, and a classic spot for ambushes.

Juke rooms

Dead-end rooms around the map, some with Cosmic Veil pickups. Good for losing a chaser who doesn’t know the map, and terrible to run into if they do.

Frequently asked questions

What are the districts in Deadlock?

Theater, Chinatown, Haunted Lot and Plaza. They're the areas between the three lanes, full of jungle camps, Sinner's Sacrifice machines, crates, steam vents and shortcuts.

What do steam vents do in Deadlock?

Standing in a steam vent hides you from enemy heroes, stops you being targeted by abilities and items that need a hero target, and boosts your regeneration. You're revealed if you take or deal damage, or if an enemy hero walks in.

When do power-ups spawn in Deadlock?

At 5:00 and every 5 minutes after that, as glowing stones on the bridges near the Soul Urn spawn and drop-off points. Claim them with a heavy melee. They last 160 seconds, or until you die.
