Item build

A starting build that works in most games. Swap pieces based on the enemy team; the notes explain what each stage is for.

Checked against 16,651 Dynamo matches from October 6–7, 2026 (all ranks). It keeps the items most Dynamo players buy and fills the other slots with the items that won most often. See the item tier list for how we measure that.

StageItems
Laning (800-soul items)Mystic Expansion and Extra Charge are on most Dynamos, for a bigger and more frequent Kinetic Pulse. Sprint Boots has the best results of his cheap items.
Mid game core (1,600–3,200)Dynamo is built for cooldowns and area: Superior Cooldown, Greater Expansion and Rapid Recharge, with Superior Duration for a longer Singularity. Warp Stone gets you into position.
Late game (6,400)Diviner's Kevlar has some of the best results of any item on Dynamo: a barrier the moment you cast Singularity, while the enemy team is shooting you. Spirit Burn and Indomitable round it out.
SituationalDebuff Reducer against crowd control, Cheat Death if you're focused first, Witchmail against spirit damage, Heroic Aura to speed up your team.

How to play

Dynamo is a support and initiator. Kinetic Pulse knocks enemies up, Quantum Entanglement blinks him around untargetable, Rejuvenating Aurora heals the team, and Singularity pulls in and stuns every enemy nearby.

Laning phase (0–10 min)

  • Pulse for trades. Kinetic Pulse knocks up the enemy hero so your lane partner can follow up.
  • Heal through pressure. Rejuvenating Aurora keeps you and your partner in lane.
  • Save Quantum Entanglement to dodge ganks.

Mid game (10–25 min)

  • Roam with your team. Dynamo’s value is in team fights, not in farming alone.
  • Contest objectives. Singularity in a small space like the Mid Boss pit or the Rift zone is devastating.
  • Get Healing Booster to make Aurora much stronger.

Late game and team fights (25+ min)

  • Blink in, then Singularity. Quantum Entanglement into the enemy group, then start Singularity before they react.
  • Buy Unstoppable. It’s often the most important item on Dynamo, because it guarantees your channel.
  • After the ult, heal. Aurora T3 lets you move and cast while channelling.

Combos

  1. Team wipe: Quantum Entanglement into the group → Singularity → your team follows up on the stunned enemies.
  2. Lane kill: Kinetic Pulse (knock-up) → partner bursts the target → Pulse again with T1’s second charge.
  3. Save: Quantum Entanglement to an ally in trouble → Rejuvenating Aurora.

Matchups

  • Good against: teams that group tightly, and melee teams that have to stand close together.
  • Hard against: heroes with silences and stuns that interrupt his channels, and anti-heal builds.

Pro tips

  • Kinetic Pulse T2 strips 15% bullet resist, setting up your gun carries.
  • Quantum Entanglement T3 halves non-ultimate debuffs on you, which helps you escape slows and stuns.
  • Singularity T3 deals 6% of max health, which makes it effective against tanks too.

Lore

Dynamo was a Columbia College professor until an interdimensional rift atomised his body. Now a dying star held together in a mechanical shell, he keeps teaching while he investigates what happened to him and looks for a way to be free.

Frequently asked questions

Is Dynamo a good support in Deadlock?

Yes, he's one of the strongest team-fight supports. Singularity can stun a whole team, and Rejuvenating Aurora heals everyone nearby. He's also tanky for a support.

How do you land a good Singularity?

Teleport into the middle of the enemy team with Quantum Entanglement, then cast Singularity straight away. Buy Unstoppable so you can't be interrupted during the channel, and make sure your team is ready to follow up.

How do you counter Dynamo?

Interrupt Singularity with a stun or silence during its 2.75-second channel, and don't group up tightly. Anti-heal weakens his Aurora.
