Deadlock heroes are strong alone, but much stronger together. Here are the combos that work best, built from how each hero’s abilities actually interact.
Ultimate combos (team-fight winners)
| Setup | Follow-up | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Dynamo: Singularity pulls and stuns a group | Seven: Storm Cloud | Enemies are stuck in one spot while the storm hits them |
| Dynamo: Singularity | Infernus: Concussive Combustion | Infernus’s 3.25s fuse goes off while the group is still stuck together |
| Rem: Naptime puts a team to sleep | Any big burst (Lady Geist, Pocket) | Line up your burst on sleeping targets |
| Billy: Chain Gang pulls everyone to him | Abrams: Seismic Impact or Seven: Storm Cloud | The pull drags enemies straight into area damage |
| Lash: Death Slam | Bebop: Hyper Beam | Slammed enemies land stunned in one spot, easy to beam |
| Ivy: Air Drop carries an ally | A brawler like Abrams or Shiv | Drops a tank into the enemy backline with a barrier and slow |
| Vyper: Petrifying Bola (T3) | Area damage timed for when the petrify ends | Petrify blocks damage, so burst right as it ends |
Resist shred (make your carries hit harder)
These abilities strip enemy resistances, so pair them with heroes who deal that damage type:
| Shred | Damage type | Pair with |
|---|---|---|
| Rat King: Rat Swarm (bullet resist per bite) | Gun | Haze, Vyper, Wraith |
| Dynamo: Kinetic Pulse T2 (−15% bullet resist) | Gun | Gun carries |
| Vindicta: Crow Familiar (bullet and spirit resist) | Both | Anyone |
| Paige: Captivating Read T3 (−18% spirit resist) | Spirit | Seven, Grey Talon, Celeste |
| Seven: Power Surge T3 (−15% spirit resist) | Spirit | Other spirit casters |
| Lady Geist: Malice (damage amp) | All | Anyone focusing the same target |
| Paradox: Pulse Grenade (damage amp) | All | Burst teams |
Carry and support pairs
| Support | Best with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Paige: Plot Armor | Gun carries | +25% weapon damage and a barrier while it holds |
| Ivy: Kudzu Connection | Gun carries | Shared fire rate, lifesteal and healing |
| Viscous: The Cube | Fragile carries | Makes them invulnerable when focused |
| Rem: Tag Along | Divers | Heals while he rides along untargetable |
| Kelvin: Ice Path | Melee heroes | Gets brawlers into range fast |
The five team comp archetypes
1. Dive
Fast heroes jump onto the enemy backline. Example: Lash, Yamato, Calico, plus Rem or Ivy to keep divers alive. Beats: immobile teams. Loses to: heavy crowd control and peel.
2. Front-to-back
A strong frontline protects carries who scale. Example: Mo & Krill or Abrams up front, Haze or Vyper behind, Paige or Kelvin supporting. Beats: poke teams. Loses to: dive that gets past the frontline.
3. Poke and siege
Long-range damage chips enemies down before fights start. Example: Grey Talon, Vindicta, Celeste, McGinnis. Beats: slow teams at objectives. Loses to: fast engages.
4. Pick-off
Catch one enemy, kill them, then take an objective 6v5. Example: Bebop, Paradox, Drifter, Wraith. Beats: teams that spread out. Loses to: teams that stay grouped.
5. Wombo combo
Stack ultimates that chain together. Example: Dynamo + Seven + Infernus. Beats: grouped teams. Loses to: teams that spread out or interrupt channels.
Building a balanced six
- One tank or frontliner to absorb damage.
- One initiator to start fights.
- One support to keep the team alive.
- Two or three damage dealers, mixing gun and spirit so the enemy can’t stack just one resist type.
- Some crowd control spread across the team.

Frequently asked questions
What are the best combos in Deadlock?
Classic pairings include Dynamo's Singularity followed by Seven's Storm Cloud or Infernus's Concussive Combustion, Rem's Naptime followed by burst damage, and Bebop or Lash pulling a target into a team that's ready to burst it.
What is a balanced team in Deadlock?
A tank or frontliner, an initiator, a support, and two or three damage dealers mixing gun and spirit damage. Mixing damage types matters because it stops the enemy just stacking one kind of resist.
