The day after City Never Sleeps, Valve shipped a small quality-of-life update aimed at health bars and settings. No hero or item numbers changed.
Health bars
- A new option lets you hide player names above health bars, or show the hero’s name instead.
- Names now fade with distance, starting at 25 metres and disappearing completely at 35 metres.
- Player names on health bars are dimmer, and the ultimate indicator is smaller.
- Health bars jitter less as heroes move.
- Trooper health bars now follow your custom enemy colour.
Colours and controls
- New Enemy Damaged colour in the accessibility settings (yellow by default), so recently hit enemies stand out.
- New enemy zipline colour under custom UI colours.
- Down dash can now be bound to its own key. See our movement guide for what it’s good for.
Sound and map
- The minimap pings when the bell rings.
- Death notifications and respawn music are quieter.
